Charlie The Raccoon by Sue

Oh my goodness! I’m so excited to be the first one to get to write a “blog” on Hank’s site! Where do I start??

So.. I’m Sue. Along with Isaac, I’m one of Hank’s super friends. Unfortunately we don’t have super powers or anything cool like that. It’s just that when we were little everyone was calling us best friends and the three of us sat down one day and decided that best friends was too… used. We wanted something that was better than that and just ours. So we came up with Super Friends! Isaac, Hank, and I have been friends forever. I mean it. We have all lived in the same neighborhood and we were even all born at the same hospital! We have different birthdays so it’s not like we were all sitting in the nursery together, but still… born in the same hospital is pretty cool stuff.

So… Hank is the best writer of all three of us by far and when I asked him what should I write about for the blog and he said “anything”. So Hank! 🙂

So ANYTHING.

Ha! Get it??  He told me write anything and I wrote.. ANYTHING. Yep.. that’s why he is the writer.

How about I tell you about Charlie?  Charlie is a raccoon my dad and I found in our neighborhood. He is such a little guy and so cute! He has a scar on his right leg. I’m not really sure how he got it, but he is very brave so I bet it happened fighting off some big animal that was trying to hurt him.  My charlie on logdad won’t let me keep Charlie in the house so I have to put out milk and food for him every night.

One of Charlie’s very favorite foods is sugar cubes. He will eat like 5000 of them. My dad says be careful how many I give him, so I limit Charlie to a sugar cube diet of three a day. He likes to take the sugar cube and dip it in water or Charlie will dip his fingers in the water first and then lick on the cube. My dad says r
accoons like to dip their food in water, but he’s not really sure why. I think it’s because he keeps his fingers clean. I mean sugar is sticky and who wants to walk around all night with sticky fingers!

When Charlie was real little I used to sneak him in the house and he would make a den in the fireplace. I was chalie asleepalways so scared he would get set on fire, but I guess he just felt like it was his little cave. I looked it up online and it’s true- raccoons like caves. I’m not sure where Charlie keeps his den now that he’s older, but I put some pillow stuffing outside one night for him and he took it. Hopefully he’s using the stuffing for his bed and it keeps him nice and warm in his cave.
Well, I have math homework I have to get done, so that’s it for today! If you have any questions about Charlie, let me know and I’ll make sure to answer them.

Bye!

-Sue
